University of Arizona Center for Innovation Named International Award Finalist

Tech Parks Arizona's incubator network, the University of Arizona Center for Innovation (UACI) will be representing the USA on the international stage as one of the 10 Inspiring Solutions Finalists at the International Association of Science Parks and Innovative Areas (IASP) Awards of Excellence. The UACI Sponsored Launch program is being recognized for its impact on the local community and startup ecosystem as it brings startups and municipalities together to sponsor innovation and the emerging business' admission to the UACI program for one year. UACI is a part of a community of innovation developed by Tech Parks Arizona, a fast-paced environment where startups and tech giants work alongside one another driving innovation forward.

 

Women of Impact

On August 24 at 3:30 PM (MT) leading women at the University of Arizona are being celebrated for their contributions and impact on the advancements of the university. Tech Parks Arizona's inspirational leader, Carol Stewart, is one of the honorees and speakers at today's festivities. Celebrate all the honorees by joining the event via live stream! IdeaFunding Applications Closing

IdeaFunding, Southern Arizona's largest and longest entrepreneurial conference and pitch competition, is celebrating its 25th anniversary with $25,000 in prizes at the TENWEST Impact Festival on November 3, 2022. UACI is proud to be a co-host with Startup Tucson for the TENWEST Festival. Startups should submit applications by 10 PM (MT), August 24, 2022. Don't miss this opportunity to gain personalized feedback and mentoring provided by UACI and the chance to win cash prizes.

 
 

$400,000 Awarded from EDA for Feasibility Study

In collaboration between Tech Parks Arizona, the University of Arizona, Arizona Experiment Station (AES) and the City of Maricopa, the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) awarded $400,000 to complete a feasibility study of the 2,100 acre Maricopa Agricultural Center (MAC) site. The project begins with representatives from the City of Maricopa, Tech Parks Arizona, and UArizona collectively evaluating the highest and best regional use of the MAC site.

 

Awards of Excellence Finalists

The Refinery building, located in the UA Tech Park at The Bridges, and the Global Advantage Soft-Landings program from Tech Parks Arizona and The University of Arizona Center for Innovation (UACI) have been named national finalists at this year's University Economic Association (UEDA) Awards of Excellence. The Refinery has been nominated for the Engaged University category while the Global Advantage Soft-Landings program is a finalist in the Innovation category. UEDA Awards of Excellence finalists come from across the nation and represent the top university-based economic development initiatives in the country.

 

Pima County Economic Development Survey

Are you currently involved in the business community of Pima County? Pima County is in the process of developing an Economic Development Strategy for your region, and representatives want to hear your thoughts on the opportunities and challenges you see in the Pima County economic landscape through a survey. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes of your time. The responses received will be fully confidential and anonymous. The survey will be open until August 31, 2022.

 

Pink Out the Park

The 2022 American Cancer Society Pink Out the Park presented by Tucson Medical Center (TMC) Health is being held at the UA Tech Park on Rita Road. Join groups from all over Tucson on Sunday, October 16, 2022, as we walk around the park in honor of the breast cancer community, while also raising funds for breast cancer research.
